Field Test
This headlamp is my current No 1 choice as a main headlamp for mandatory kit. It delivers a consistent bright light and range for many hours. If you are planning to run through the night you need a headlamp that can guarantee to provide you with 10 – 12 hours of light. Make sure you have fresh batteries (I use lithium) and you will have no troubles at all.
I generally use this lamp either on forest trails or off road runs across fields. In the case of trails you can rely on it to provide a bright enough detailed light to clearly see tree roots, undulations, and all those tricky sections that will otherwise have you face planting! Across dark fields where you need a long range focussed light to avoid missing the exit stile it delivers.
At 175gms (plus batteries) it is very light that you don’t even notice it on your head other than the fact that you have excellent vision to have a safe night trail run.
